Project Management – General Motors Public Relations Campaign for 2007 Dubai Motorshow

The Client, Memac Ogilvy Public Relations had recently won the General Motors Middle East Account and was in process of recruiting senior managers to handle the account. This coincided with the 2007 Motor Show which was upgraded by the Client for the first time and required a larger than ever Public Relations campaign. TOFCS were approached to head the Memac Ogilvy team for the duration of the project. The brief included establishing a project plan and managing time and resources for its successful completion; development of PR plan and full messaging, media relations and client liaison.

TOFCS started with consolidation of the brief and clear outline of the scope of work, timelines and deliverables. A system for tracking progress and control of execution was put in place. To ensure smooth client-agency relationship, individual discussions were held with Client, Agency team and management and all pending issues were addressed. Clear responsibilities and deliverables were set for each team member. We worked closely with General Motors to elaborate the PR plan and messaging up to their standards.

The 2007 Motorshow was a total success for General Motors, with extensive media coverage and Memac Ogilvy PR received the Client’s appreciation.
